I grew up on the east coast of South Africa with an adventurous spirit coursing through my veins. A manual film camera was my constant companion on early missions - from remote kayaking expeditions; traveling through Africa with public transport; to time in the military as a helicopter medic in war. University, followed by a professional career in the creative industries, initially live music, and later as creative director for brands and organisations across myriad African countries, all helped hone my sensibility and and keen eye for the inherent goodness of humanity. Documentary photography and story telling is what i am passionate about. Most often with images that transform reflections of light, into compelling narratives. But also with video, and the pen . When times are tough, then perhaps it becomes more important than ever to look beyond the obvious, for the uplifting rays of human spirit.
